Yields by Fertilizer data is provided for the two crops with the greatest number of acres in each crop district. Data is based on a minimum of 400 acres and two producers for each yield range and land use: summerfallow (smf) and stubble (stb).

These graphs illustrate the effect of land use and fertilizer on yield. Each chart displays the average amount of fertilizer applied to achieve the highest yield, lowest yield, and yield benchmarks in between. The yield is broken down into the bottom 5 per cent, top 5 per cent, and low, mid and high 30 per cent of yield records.

It is important to recognize that fertilizer rates are only one piece of the yield equation. The top 5 per cent of yields must have had more favourable growing conditions to utilize the nutrients applied than did the lowest 5 per cent of yields.
