Weather Based Insurance

Crop Insurance's Weather Based Insurance programs can be used in addition to existing coverage or as stand alone coverage for traditional and non traditional crops. These are not individual production programs. Indemnities are not tied to your yields, the amount of precipitation, and/or the temperature on the specific parcel of land you insure. The precipitation and/or temperature readings at the selected weather stations are the only method of determining payment.
