MEDIA BULLETIN
AGRISTABILITY IMPORTANT DEADLINE

December 12, 2011

The Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) is reminding producers December 31, 2011, is an important AgriStability program deadline.

First, all 2010 AgriStability program forms must be submitted by December 31, 2011, to be eligible for the 2010 program year.  Individuals must complete and submit the AgriStability Harmonized Form for Individuals to the Canada Revenue Agency in Winnipeg.  Corporations, co-operatives and other entities need to complete and submit their forms to SCIC.  The deadline without penalty to submit program forms has passed (September 30) and a $500 per month late filing penalty will be applied to any AgriStability benefits.

Second, participants also need to submit their 2011 AgriStability enrollment fee by December 31, 2011, to be eligible for the 2011 program year.  The deadline without penalty has passed (April 30 or 30 days from the date on the participant’s Enrolment Fee/Notice); therefore a 20 per cent penalty will be added.  Participants can review their program fees on their Enrolment Fee/Notice.
